Chicaning is a term that is used industry-wide to explain how a series of "paddles" are incorporated into the conveyor belt(s) to ultimately single file a product. The paddles can be arranged in a variety of different configurations, depending on the product and how it needs to be shifted into the single lane to move onto the next series of the line.
